Lifespan
Lifespan is a performative typographic installation presenting a new composition for every new day during Typojanchi International Typography Biennale in Seoul, South Korea.
For the duration of the biennale, Lifespan was revealed layer by layer in a performative way. Inspired by natural and artistic visual elements that refer to the element of time, this installation is the studio’s output of research done to the relationship between typography and life.
Lifespan is inspired by Korean ‘Bujeok’ talisman paper and consists of 12 layers of coloured paper with a printed typographic design. Each layer is uniquely designed and makes references to the 10 symbols of longevity. Within the layers Studio Spass integrated the Latin alphabet, Kanji and Hangeul. Each individual sheet displays a piece of the typographic work but also holds a general message of positivity for the visitors of the biennale.
