Baltimore Bend
Baltimore Bend is a 35 meter long multi-functional public artwork and playground commissioned by the city of Almere and designed in collaboration with Arttenders.
We aimed to create a new landmark for the Baltimore Square in Almere Buiten. The architecture and surroundings of Almere Buiten have inspired us to this playful design in which our fascination for form and interaction perfectly align. The massive bended and perforated steel plate meanders across the plot. By carefully designing the perforations and the flow and placement of its counter shapes we created a systems that offers new ways to interact with the sculpture.
